Position Description:

As a key member of the Project Management team, the Senior Project Manager (PM) reports to the Director of Project Management and assumes an important role in the overall success of the Project Management department. The Senior Project Manager is accountable for the overall success of their projects, overseeing and directing construction projects from conception to completion while delivering projects on-time, within scope and budget.

Position Key Criteria/Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in construction project management (experience with a commercial window treatment dealer a plus)
  • Clean Driving Record & Valid Driver's License
  • OSHA 30 Hour Certification (or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire)
  • Experience with reading and interpreting Architectural drawings
  • Experience with Spectrum Viewpoint is a plus but not required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to quickly learn new products and systems
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Strong organization skills
  • Detailed oriented
  • Demonstrated success working with internal and external project partners, cross function team experience
  • Able to work flexible hours, periodic early starts, late finishes, weekends based on active project schedules

Position Measurable Accountabilities:

  • Ensure that all actions are supporting the Purpose, Vision, and Core Values of Ver-Tex Construction
  • Financial planning and monitoring of projects to Maximize gross profits by utilizing tools such as change order strategy and management, vendor and customer back-charges, and subcontracting, where appropriate
  • Plan and create the critical path and benchmarks for each project by understanding timing of each phase
  • Proactively communicate with key stakeholders, internally and externally, to ensure awareness of the projects’ progress
  • Risk management - Identify and respond to potential issues throughout the life of the projects to minimize potential negative impacts including, but not limited to: 1) Unrealistic scheduling commitments 2) Poor planning design 3) Safety & regulatory requirements 4) Company financial liability
  • Ensure timeliness & accuracy of all PM responsibilities including, but not limited to: 1) Forecasts (short & long term) 2) Submittal review & re-submittals 3) RFI tracking & review 4) Change orders 5) Field measures & site coordination 6) Order submission to Procurement Department 7) Requests made to Field Operations (scheduling, warehouse, installers) 8) Billing
  • As required, present accurate and timely reports to Director of Project Management and members of the Executive team including, but not limited to: 1) Revenue, margin (GPM/GPD), and labor 2) Forecasts 3) Re-Projections 4) Change orders 5) Back charges
  • Stay current with new products and product training

Position Key Technical Competencies:

  • Bluebeam, Procore
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams etc.)
  • Exceptional Negotiation/ Budget Skills
  • Understands and can interpret the technical requirements of plans, schedules, specifications, vendor technical documents (product data sheets)
