Our Field Operations Manager position is a stepping stone to becoming a Director of Operations for Ver-Tex construction. The Ver-Tex team is constantly growing and often hiring and promoting from within. We expect our Field Operations Manager to be responsible for the same job tasks as a Director of Operations.

This is a hybrid position. You must be local to the Orlando area to be in-office and do construction site visits.

Position Description:

We are looking for a Field Operations Manager to join the Project Management team. The Field Operations Manager will report to the Director of Operations.

The Field Operations Manager is vital for the overall success of scheduling installations and ensuring quality standards. This position requires hands-on training, the ability to develop efficiency within crews (written and in-person), the ability to foster a solution-oriented mindset among the foremen, and the use of a specific training systems to grow brand new employees into great installers. The ideal candidate also has teaching/training/team-building experience, in the construction industry.

Experience with roller shades is desired but not required.

Position Key Criteria/Requirements:

  • High attention to details for developing and managing the creation of systems, as well as tracking and overseeing their implementation
  • Hire, develop and oversee the management of our installation crew and the field operations located in the Orlando, Florida area
  • Organize, plan and execute job assignments
  • Supervise for quality control
  • Work with warehouse personnel to maintain inventory and prep materials for jobs
  • Keep detailed notes of work that is done and establish a schedule / staffing plan for the projects
  • Utilize our product specific training system to develop the skills of new employees
  • Ensure finished projects are high-quality and in compliance with our standards
  • Provide excellent customer service to clients
  • Maintain and implement all safety measures and procedures

Position Measurable Accountabilities:

  • Hire Installers
  • Learn and use company scheduling software
  • Ensure Installers meet quality standards
  • Set up new warehouse / office efficiently and safely
  • Balance new location set up with installs to ensure clients deadlines are not affected
  • Learn Ver-Tex processes and train installer
  • Learn and become efficient in Ver-Tex inventory program (Spectrum)
  • Become proficient in all products

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards
