Top Five Benefits of Motorized Shades in Your Home

  1. Ease and Convenience

You can automate your entire home from one place with one touch. You can access and update your shade settings anytime and anywhere wirelessly with various devices, including tablets, smartphones, or handheld remotes. Motorized shades can also be programmed to lift and lower at specific times of day to coordinate with daylight.

  1. Privacy and Security

Feel safe at home by maintaining your privacy at all times by automating your motorized shades. Set an “away” scene for when you leave the house to conceal your valuables. With total integration, you can set the security system to bring your shades down at the same time for instant protection.

  1. Save Energy

Shades are an integral part of a climate control system. They work with both lighting systems and HVAC control to affect the temperature of your home and energy output. Lower a translucent solar shade during peak daylight hours to naturally reduce heat gain and give your AC a break.

  1. Protect Your Valuables

Not only can the sun’s harmful UV rays fade colors and wear down textiles, the effects of sunlight can be harsh on your furniture, artwork, carpet, and other valuables. Motorized shades are the perfect solution as they can completely block these UV rays from you home, in turn protecting your valuable furnishings.

  1. Aesthetically Pleasing

Motorized shades allow you the option to customize according to your home’s design aesthetic with styles including traditional, rustic, formal, and modern. No matter what the style, motorized shades are a great way to enhance the beauty, giving it a polished and modernized look.

By partnering with Ver-Tex to provide the latest in window treatment solutions, homeowners will be able to find the perfect window treatment to help bring comfort and style to their homes.

Michael Jones

When Mike is not walking his dog or trying to find new dog parks, he is involved with construction in some sort of way.  Growing up around cabinet shops, Mike has always felt a sense of relaxation remodeling homes, flipping houses or making small projects just to pass time.  After a day of running around to dog parks and constructing things, Mike likes nothing more than to sit down at a nice restaurant with good company and enjoy dinner. Finally, Mike finds it difficult to pass up a good movie or a good book when he is ready to wind down – as long as he can stay awake.

Tyler Denham

Tyler was born and raised in Salem, MA, for the earlier part of his childhood, and later moved to the Newburyport area with his parents and siblings. He now resides in Haverhill with his fiancée and son.

Tyler was a three-sport athlete (nowadays it’s golf and softball because he can’t do anything without injuring himself) whose life was, and still is, consumed by all sports. His family is very, very important to him and he loves to spend as much of his free time with them as possible. He and his family really love to travel and experience all this world has to offer. He loves being outdoors, which is where you will find him 90% of the time.

Tyler hopes to live a long and healthy life and retire down south on a golf course. Unfortunately for him, that day is quite a bit away. Nevertheless, he does his best to enjoy today, and appreciate all the little things in life.

Erin Conner

In her downtime, Erin enjoys spending time with her husband and pug.  She especially enjoys spending time in Maine with her family and vacationing in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.  Erin loves that the ocean and mountains are all within a few hours drive. She is a huge Boston sports fan (Go Pats!), foodie and lover of music.

Chris Sabo

It all started when Chris was born in the beautiful city of Oceanside, California. He spent most of his childhood as a military brat living on the Marine Corps base, Camp Pendleton. In 7th grade, Chris moved in with his grandparents who lived in Rancho Palos Verdes until he graduated high school. Once he became a graduate, he began working for his best friend’s dad who was a residential general contractor.

In 2015, Chris made the adventurous move across the good Ole U.S. of A to the state of Massachusetts. Although Massachusetts living is completely different than living in Southern California, he has found his new home and enjoys the trees, the lakes and the open spaces, (cue the banjo music).

Eric Silva

Eric was born in Providence, RI, but grew up in Somerset, MA, with his parents and older sister. He went to Somerset schools from elementary through high school. From the young age of three years old, he started playing ice hockey as a defenseman, then quickly moved into being a goaltender (originally taught by his father), then moved onto elite and select teams as he got older. He traveled throughout the country and Canada for tournaments playing competitively for 18 years. Now he enjoys playing on Friday nights with the local men’s league. Eric also has a slight obsession with fitness, and spends a couple hours a day lifting and running to stay active. When he’s not on the ice or in the gym, he enjoys watching the Boston sports teams, going to concerts, and traveling.

Dwayne Scott

Dwayne has a passion for ministry and music. As he reflects on the undiluted word of God, it gives him a sense of inner peace and tranquility that transcends the urge to dwell in self-pity and defeat. Dwayne enjoys at-home family time inclusive of teaching his children how to play various musical instruments and inspiring his wife to sing. Furthermore, Dwayne loves helping others. If someone has a need and he’s able to help, you can count on him.

Dennis Smith

Dennis is a lifelong resident of Quincy, having upgraded to the more palatial neighborhood of Squantum where he lives with his wife Julia. Summertimes outside of work you can often find him out on the waters of Boston Harbor enjoying an adult beverage or 20 aboard ClanSea. He is a lover of golf, although not as talented as he’d like. Dennis is a diehard Boston sports fan who spends many Sundays down at “the razor” cheering on everyone’s favorite team, the Patriots. The Caribbean is always calling, there’s just not enough time.

David Silva

David Silva was born in the north of mainland Portugal. He came to the United States with his wife in 2000.
David started working for Ver-Tex in January 2008, and is well-versed in everything from shades and blinds, to bathroom partitions and lockers.

When Conor is not either working or playing the beautiful game, he likes to spend time with his family and friends as well as his cat Coal. An aspiring family man, Conor looks forward to having a big family (in the distant future) while coaching his children to World Cup glory.
