Take advantage of Daylight Harvesting!
Daylight Harvesting is taking advantage of natural light through electric light control solutions. We've taken this process further by adding motorized shades for a total light control solution. Such solutions offer savings on electricity consumption, which lowers energy costs. In addition to providing light control, the motorized shades also help to reduce heating and cooling costs. Therefore, daylight harvesting lessens the dependency on fossil fuel while at the same time, it creates environments that are productive and comfortable.
For the past year, we have made the investment into the daylight harvesting program because we believe the time is now to actively address the issues we all face with rising energy costs and environmental waste. Believing in this solution adds more passion to our investment. The energy savings are real, and the return on investment is healthy. So much so, that we've seen an increase in interest from our existing customers in the last year. Providing a Pilot Application has aided in securing the results for many. By taking two rooms located next to each other, we install a lighting control system in just one of the rooms. This system includes digital ballasts, dimmers, daylight sensors and motorized shades. The ballasts are configured to address the needs of the room. Those needs could include dimming down the row of lights closest to the window to allow for natural light filtration to enter into the room. Therefore, taking advantage of the natural light reducing energy costs. Depending on the activity in the space, light levels will be digitally lowered to fit the needs.
No matter the building type, every room does not need the lights to be on at 100% power at all times. When this does occur, there is waste, which leads to cost.
We have found that in MA, current shading systems are manually operated and use opaque materials which allow only minimal light into the space. Our shading solutions include motorization which provides for automatic control of the shades. Add to that fabric selections which let more natural light into the space, minimize glare and heat gain, and maximize the presence of natural light, and you have a huge benefit. Reducing energy consumption and maintaining a desired amount of light into the space with cost-savings is the end result.
